His research interests focus on exercise neurophysiology and aging sports intervention, mainly covering neuromuscular control mechanisms, biomechanical analysis of exercise fatigue, muscle strength decline in the elderly and optimization of resistance training strategies. His research results have been published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, Sports Medicine,Journal of Applied Physiology and other top journals in the field of sports science, with more than 300 SCI papers and over 16,000 citations. He was a senior editor of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise and currently serves on the editorial board of Journal of Aging and Physical Activity, Motor Control and other journals, and has long been developing guidelines for exercise interventions for the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and other organizations. He has been invited to give more than 30 keynote speeches at international sports medicine conferences and biomechanics congresses, and has collaborated with many top universities in Europe and the United States (e.g., the University of North Carolina and the University of Groningen) to promote clinical translational research in exercise science.
